Our Dentists

Dr Buntha Han BDS - Principal

Buntha graduated from Otago University, New Zealand, in 1997. He spent his post- graduate year working at Wellington Hospital, where he gained invaluable specialised experience with Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. Following that he transitioned to a private practice, where he remained for nine years.
The lure of a family-friendly coastal lifestyle led to a relocation to the Sunshine Coast, and the commencement of his position with Golden Beach Dental Practice. In 2012 Buntha cemented his commitment to the practice, and joined in a partnership with Dr. Robert Muir.
Buntha practices all forms of General Dentistry, with particular interest in cosmetic dentistry and oral rehabilitation. His gentle natured approach is often recognised as a comforting presence for people who can sometimes feel a bit apprehensive about treatment.
Buntha has an enduring love for all things fishing, when he’s not fishing, he enjoys spending time with his family.

Dr Dipen Walvatkar - Associate

Dr Dipen Walvatkar — General Cosmetic Dentistry In Caloundra, QLD

Dipen graduated from the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, India, in 2010 and joined private practice as an associate in a busy family practice in Ambernath – his hometown near Mumbai. After two years of work as an associate and gaining valuable experience of general dentistry as well as working alongside specialists, he took up a short term role with a remote site healthcare specialist- International SOS, as dental officer at the PNG LNG plant in Port Moresby, in Papua New Guinea. Later on, he joined a well respected dental practice with Australian ties in Port Moresby. He worked for the next 5 years serving a varied local and expatriate clientele. He also volunteered with YWAM medical ships to provide dental services to villagers living in the far reaches of the country without access to essential services.

While overseas, Dipen began his accreditation process to be a registered dental practitioner in Australia, and cleared the Australian Dental council exams in early 2021 after a long wait due to the pandemic. In the intervening period, he worked  in a supporting role for a special needs and aged care dentistry provider which was an eye opening experience. Now he dedicates his time as a dentist towards the dental needs of elderly in care homes apart from private practice. Dipen enjoys all aspects of general dentistry and uses a holistic approach in discussing treatment needs with a special interest in pain management, restoring function and aesthetics.

In his spare time, Dipen enjoys watching sport, playing cricket for the Caloundra Cricket Club, spending time with pets, family and friends, cooking, reading, hiking. He likes keeping up with the latest tech news and is an auction hunter in the making.

Dr Frances Williams

Francis Williams

Dr Frances Williams qualified in 1996 from the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg in South Africa. After working in a university research position and 2 years in private practice, Fran left South Africa and went to work in the UK for 4.5 years and later in New Zealand for another 5 years.

In search of the beach lifestyle and a safe family friendly place to live, Fran and her family moved to the Sunshine Coast. Fran worked at Golden Beach between 2008-2012 and left to work closer to home further north. Fran worked in a few other private practices, as well as for Queensland Health but returned to her favourite work place, Golden Beach, in early 2020.

Fran loves practicing general family dentistry, caring for the very young and very old and everyone in between. Fran is a thorough dentist who enjoys interacting with her patients and has an eye for detail. She will always explain and discuss problems and solutions allowing her patients to weigh up options to help them make the best decisions for their oral healthcare. Fran keeps up with current practice and continuing professional development and is involved in local Sunshine Coast study club.

When Fran is not at work, she is attempting to improve her surfing skills, SUP, open water swimming, running and many other outdoor pursuits. She loves spending time with her family, camping and exploring Aus and the world at large, sampling the different foods and wines these areas have to offer. Lately she has also started to dabble in doing a bit of pottery and gardening on the weekends. So, if anyone has any surfing or pottery tips, she be pleased to hear them when she sees you for your next dental check-up.
